Inclusive Design and Inclusivity
In my discussion on theory and design practice I went back to my Module 2 of Public Interest Technology course 502 “Codesigning the Future”. I intervened with two videos I created while in Tathra, NSW, Australia in December 2020. One shows soldier ants going about their business at Severs Beach at the Ben Boyd National Park, the other shows birds at Kianinny Bay in Tathra cooperating and living together as they await fisherman into the bay to share the lunch time meal together. A few people commented in the chat, that observing animals is a great way to understand ourselves better.

I landed “inclusive design and inclusivity” which got me thinking greatly and connecting to PIT and beyond PIT, to first principles inspired by research completed by Jeremy Pitt of ICL and Roba Abbas of UOW.
* I want to especially thank the student body of Innovation and Global Development PhD Program who organised end to end the concept, the initial working paper for our background reading, the research focus, the speakers and panelists, Q&A, MC-ing, thanks, and ongoing communications with us in the month preceding. How professional was this! And I hear the majority of these PhD students are from Guyana. We could not be more fortunate to have this inspiration injected into our research and teaching in the School for the Future of Innovation in Society! It was such a great afternoon!
