NSW Police have began using an SMS geo-targeting alert system to help locate high-risk missing persons across the state.

A lot of worried people were hesitant the SMS was a scam with this technology only being rolled out by NSW earlier this year.

Kia Handley caught up Dr Katina Michael from the School for the Future of Innovation in Society Arizona State University to learn more.
