2021 SFIS Education Award
Excerpt video footage from our Annual Awards in the School for the Future of Innovation in Society (SFIS) at Arizona State University.
In the above Youtube snippet of the 1.5 hour celebratory get together to recognise one another's service to the ASU community, degree program student personal achievement awards, and varying awards by staff, academics and students are three awards.
The first that I got to present was the award for the PIT student, which went to Toby Shulruff.
My director David Guston, then presented me with the Excellence in Education Award. Although I have been nominated a few times at my previous institution for university wide education awards, it was nice actually get one finally.
The Champions of the Future Award was given to the class of PIT502 for the Co-designing the Future 50-day Challenge. There is an errata in the presentation- the nomination came from a student in the cohort, not by me, which made the award even more incredible. I later found out it was Toby Shulruff were nominated the students and her instructor. Thank you Toby for this generous gesture. In this first PIT502 group I know will be future leaders of large organisations. It is a blessing and an honor to be recognised among this group.
Details of the other awardees can be found here: https://sfis.asu.edu/news-events/sfis-school-awards It really is amazing to belong to a School that is so outward in recognising effort of all involved in the SFIS community. That is one of our director's fortes, among many other traits and characteristics. It sets such a powerful example to the Community we have created at SFIS, and ASU.
